FLOWERING OF CREATIVITY
To describe the “flowering of creativity” we use the imagery of a tree. One may conceive life as a process of planting a tree on a properly prepared ground, and then nourish it to grow towards the sky to fetch the light and air necessary for its beauty to flourish in all directions. It grows to attract the creatures who seek their homes in a secure sphere. The myth of such a “tree” has inspired imaginations of people in all cultures. It needs soil that nourishes the desires to seek “light” and protect and shelter the living creatures to find peace and harmony together under the shame shades. Its stem is grounded on knowledge and receives nourishment from the knowledge of the world and one`s own potentials. By strengthening the knowledge of one`s own place in relations to the living and the nonliving worlds around, immersed in the great cosmos in which all exist, and developing awareness of the unity, which exists among us all, one may strengthen the power of the stem to hold greater visions of life lifted towards the higher world. Why is this mind? What is this will? What is the most meaningful way we may act and relate ourselves to the world where we find ourselves? Who are we in this cosmos? Besides made of molecules and bound by laws, do we possess any other attributes of existence which may define the “Self” as something not knowable, which is beyond the realm of time and space (as the sages in India had once described in Upanishad)? Is there any realm of spirituality where we are One with the “cosmic mind” which energies all minds, wills and thoughts? Once this “stem” becomes strong it can produce branches which will bear views and visions moving towards a more secure sphere directed to the common cosmic mind. We may call this the realm of the “Self” (as Indian sages had done), which is of such nature that it can branch in many directions to catch the maximum light available to the living beings. Once these views and visions are formed, the “tree” will be able to bear vibrant foliages and flowers which will enchant the living world and draw them to build home in it. It will protect them from the hazards of storms and nourish them with its fruits.
CREATIVE FAMILY “NURSERY”
Keeping the imagery of plants and trees in mind, we plan to develop a “nursery of creativity”. Here creative people will be able to sow seeds, nourish the young plants to grow roots and strengthen the stems of knowledge, prune the branches so that the trees may develop healthy branches which can fetch maximum light, and bring forth the most beautiful foliages and flowers of the mind which would enchant the living world.
We conceive the “nursery” as a creative hub where people will bring their unique plants. One plant will nourish another plant and every plant will support each other`s development. Thus, all will contribute in creating an inner climate suitable for all plants to rise higher towards the sky and the light of awareness of the unity of all existence. The fruits, which these plants may bear, that each and every one will be part of , will find ways to nourish the endeavours beneficial and inspirational also to wider communities. The ultimate aim is to contribute in creating building blocks for a sounder, healthier and more humane society and livable planet.
BIRDS OF COMMUNICATION
The next idea is to communicate what we have been doing in this garden including the “nursery” to the outside world. We will be passing news from the garden to the outside world in order to extend our activities outside the confinement of the physical garden where we gather and work together. Here the meaning of the birds guarding the gate of the “Garden of Light” will come into light. They stand for the communication with the greater world. One bird will bring inspirations from the world outside of the garden to the nursery and the other bird will inspire the outside world by bringing news of activities of our “garden” and the “nursery”. The communication will make use of digital technology and other means suitable for the best expressions of the creative minds.
